I've been told perfection is boring. Well, I'm certainly not boring (just ask my friends) and I'm definitely not perfect (just ask my kids)! Because of this I have a standing policy of rewarding people who nicely bring an error to my attention with a free single pattern download from my Ravelry pattern store.
The sock uses mistake stitch ribbing (hence Oops!) and reverse gusset shaping which allows the pattern to extend to the heel and slightly around the margins of the foot. It comes in 4 sizes.
And, while this is an extremely basic sock (and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it’s been done before) it has everything I like in a sock: comfortable fit, construction techniques that appeal and it flatters the heck out of hand painted yarn.
Designers note: I was completing this design just as I learned about my selection as a semi-finalist in The Fiber Factor. Now that I’m swatching for the contest I don’t have the time to give the eagle-eye final read through I normally put my patterns through. Since it will be months before I can return to it I have decided to release it for the time being “as is” for free. Please enjoy, and do let me know if you come across any gremlins in the writing.
